Earth League International Launches WildLeaks in Cambodia to Combat Wildlife Trafficking
Earth League International (ELI) has officially launched WildLeaks in Cambodia, strategically expanding our efforts to fight wildlife trafficking in one of Southeast Asia’s most active and important trafficking hotspots.

Cambodia has rapidly become a major global hub for wildlife trafficking. Its geographic position at the heart of Southeast Asia—combined with weak enforcement, corruption, and porous borders—makes it a key transit point in the international wildlife trafficking supply chain. The country plays a crucial role in moving illegal wildlife products between Africa, Asia, and other parts of the world. By activating WildLeaks in Cambodia, we are targeting a critical node in these transnational criminal networks.
WildLeaks is an initiative created in 2014 and managed by Earth League International. It is the world’s first secure, anonymous whistleblowing platform dedicated exclusively to environmental and wildlife crime. Built on Tor-based technology, the platform provides end-to-end encryption and total confidentiality, allowing whistleblowers to safely report information without fear of exposure or retaliation. Every submission has the potential to trigger impactful investigations, enforcement actions, and systemic change.

This new Khmer-language and English campaign is designed specifically for people living and working in Cambodia—those who may witness, hear about, or be affected by the illegal wildlife trade. We are calling on local communities, conservationists, government employees, journalists, and concerned citizens to come forward. Even small pieces of information can be critical in dismantling organized trafficking networks.
Not only intelligence collection
But the campaign goes beyond intelligence collection. It also serves as a powerful awareness and advocacy tool. By working with local media and civil society, we aim to inform the public about the true impact of wildlife trafficking—not just on animals, but on communities, economies, and security. The campaign is designed to both expose crime and change minds.
If you know anyone living or working in Cambodia, please share this initiative with them. Spreading awareness of WildLeaks is one of the most powerful ways to ensure critical intelligence reaches those who can act on it—and to empower individuals to become part of the solution.

You can also directly support this important initiative by donating. Your contribution helps sustain our intelligence-gathering operations, enhance the technology behind WildLeaks, and fund the outreach and advocacy efforts needed to make it successful in Cambodia and around the world.
ELI has been investigating wildlife trafficking and environmental crime in Southeast Asia since 2014. Over the years, our work has contributed not only to significant arrests but also to building a large and valuable body of knowledge and intelligence. This information has been used by governments, academics, journalists, and other NGOs to better understand the mechanics of transnational wildlife trafficking, environmental crime, and their convergence with other serious offenses such as money laundering, drug trafficking, and human smuggling.
