Earth League International (ELI) participated in the Jackson Wild Summit, held in Grand Teton National Park.

After having contributed to several panels at previous editions of the Summit, ELI’s founder and executive director, Andrea Crosta, served this year as producer and moderator of the investigative journalism panel.

The panel, titled “Investigative Journalism: Courage in the Search for Truth,” explored the challenges and responsibilities of investigative reporting at a time when uncovering facts and publishing difficult stories often requires significant professional and personal courage. The discussion focused on what it means to investigate complex issues, verify information, and bring critical but often uncomfortable truths to the public.

The panel featured prominent voices in investigative journalism and documentary storytelling, including Richard Ladkani, Rosanna Xia, Abraham Joffe, and Evan Simon.

The conversation brought together journalists and filmmakers whose work is dedicated to uncovering hidden realities and telling stories that matter, in front of an international audience of media, conservation, and storytelling professionals attending the Jackson Wild Summit.

The session stressed that in an era defined by rising global instability, environmental crisis, and widespread disinformation, the necessity for courage, truth, and empathy is paramount.

The Core Challenge: Combating Numbness with Emotion

The biggest challenge facing storytellers today is not just crime, political corruption or corporate power, but the widespread indifference and numbness toward global crises.

The question is: “How can we get people to care again?”
