Earth League International was proud to have our Founder and Executive Director, Andrea Crosta, present our pioneering work on Environmental Crime Convergence at the Organization of American States ‘ (OAS) 3rd Meeting of National Points of Contact of the RANDOT Mechanism of National Authorities on Transnational Organized Crime, under the Chair of Argentina.

This important gathering in Washington D.C. brought together representatives from across the Americas to strengthen hemispheric cooperation against transnational organized crime within the framework of the #RANDOT mechanism. The Organization of American States (OAS) plays a key role in fostering cooperation, democracy, and security across the Americas. In particular, the Department against Transnational Organized Crime (DTOC), led by Gastón Schulmeister, does vital work by strengthening regional responses to organized crime, promoting intelligence-sharing, and supporting the development of coordinated strategies among member states.

As a recognized expert in environmental crime convergence, Andrea was honored to bring ELI’s extensive knowledge and experience regarding the growing threat of environmental crime convergence. The meeting hosted representatives from security agencies, government bodies, and law enforcement organizations from throughout the Americas, creating an invaluable opportunity to share insights and forge stronger international partnerships in the fight against environmental and wildlife crime.

Engaging with countries across the Americas through this high-level forum is essential to ELI’s mission. Transnational environmental and wildlife crimes do not respect borders, and their convergence with other serious crimes demands coordinated regional responses. By presenting our intelligence and investigative work to OAS member states, ELI contributes to a shared understanding of the criminal dynamics threatening ecosystems, governance, and communities. It also allows us to strengthen strategic alliances and encourage the integration of environmental/wildlife crime into national and regional security agendas.
