Our approach at ELI focuses on minimizing resources dedicated to development and fundraising, instead relying heavily on our reputation and word-of-mouth to attract potential funders.

Our work is funded by individual donors, grants from foundations, and government institutions.

How Do We Spend the Funds?

We uphold full accountability and transparency in every aspect of our operations, ensuring that all funds generously contributed to support our projects are managed responsibly. Our financial allocations are carefully monitored, fully traceable, and aligned with our mission-driven priorities. Additionally, we operate with very little overhead, ensuring that the vast majority of our resources go directly toward impactful fieldwork and conservation efforts.

93% of our funds are dedicated to projects combating environmental and wildlife crime, while less than 7% is allocated to administration, governance, and fundraising.

We earned GuideStar’s Platinum Seal of Transparency, which is reserved for the most accountable and transparent nonprofits, and we are ranked highly on other charity watchdog websites, such as Charity Navigator.
